This site was first established in early May of 2007. (Yes, for some of the fans who have been with Loveless since the beginning, I’m quite the noob.) In the course of over two months the content for this site was created after re-reads and research of the manga. Content-wise this shrine is primarily based on events of the manga, at this moment it covers everything up to chapter 4 of Volume 7 (equivalent to Zero-Sum’s june 2006 issue). I still need to re-read the remaining chapters in order to implement their information into the site.
The goal of this site is initially to provide information and better insight on the character Agatsuma Soubi. The amount of fansites on the internet focused on Loveless is relatively low compared to other titles. Because I consider Loveless as an unique piece of work in the animanga genre, I wanted to promote more exposure of this subject.
The content is objective in the sense that the facts mentioned are derived directly from the work itself. I look at the events as neutral as possible and analyse them as they are presented, but I do like to incorporate my own opinions and views here and there.
» The name.
Eden, as in ’ paradise ’ or ’ a place of pristine or abundant natural beauty ’.
to call, as in ’ to speak in a loud distinct voice so as to be heard at a distance ’.
The name refers to basically two things. Eden to the ethereal and surrealistic feel of both the art, world and events of the story. And the name as a whole is an attempt to define the essence of Soubi’s character: his constant subconscious search for healing, self acception, trust, love and himself. And the believe that unknowingly, he might be well on his way to have found all that through facing his past ordeals, meeting new people in the present, and by experiencing the events that follow; and so actually creating for himself that ’call’. Also, to see meeting Ritsuka as the initiation of the process of finally finding the purity and light he needs to get over his dark past.

The Soubi image comes from the Loveless artbook Your Eyes Only (which harbours pretty much the most beautiful and refined drawings you'll find in artbooks). High quality scans can be found at the Aethereality Galleries. The brushes and textures used in the layout are from the lovely Gender. The layout was made in Paint Shop Pro 8 and coded in Notepad.
