Besides the talent of charming life with word and appearance, Soubi possesses some other skills as well. He is quite good at painting. When he’s in his saddest moods he produces the most beautiful flower paintings. This artistic outlet seems to be the perfect way for Soubi to deal with his troubles and ghosts from the past.
In spell battles, Soubi is recognized as a strong, if not ’the’ strongest Fighter. He casts spells with speed and precise aim: there is very little time between his incantations and their actual action. Soubi can freely choose how to attack or to initiate brute force on his opponent’s body or mind. As can be seen several times in Loveless, Soubi can manage a spell battle without his Sacrifice actively participating. Even without his Sacrifice present, Soubi can (if not barely) survive a battle. Soubi can also do fourth level spells, which is considered as very high.
As Loveless progresses, it turns out that Soubi paid a high price for becoming such a good Fighter, because he was trained very harshly to become as strong as he is.
